OLD EUROPE

Old Europe is a bakery on Broadway Street in downtown Asheville, known for European-style pastries and cakes. The menu includes croissants (chocolate, almond and savory), quiches, muffins, a range of mousse-filled sponge cakes, cheesecakes, eclairs, and French almond macarons, along with espresso drinks made with locally roasted Dynamite coffee.

The shop is a family-owned, family-run business founded in 1994 by Melinda Vetro, who trained as a baker in Hungary. Gluten-free and vegan options are marked on the menu, and the bar serves a short list of cocktails. Walk-in pick-up is available in the shop, and custom, wedding and catering orders can be requested through the website.
