Zingerman's Bakehouse is an artisanal bakery in Ann Arbor that started as the bread supplier for Zingerman's Delicatessen and now makes breads, bagels, pastries, cakes and lunch items. Known for its Jewish rye, pastries like vanilla bean crullers and sweet ricotta-filled doughnuts, and seasonal pies and cakes, it also serves hot pasties, rétes and daily soups and sandwiches.
The shop takes walk-in orders and online orders for pickup at the bakehouse, with future orders accepted three or more days ahead, and cakes can be customized or ordered by phone. Gift cards are available, and the bakehouse also runs BAKE! hands-on baking classes for home bakers. Breakfast runs in the morning and some lunch items sell out early, so it helps to arrive early.
