University of Michigan Credit Union

The University of Michigan Credit Union, known as UMCU, is a member-owned financial cooperative that has served its members for more than 70 years. It offers checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, IRAs, business accounts, student account packages, and a range of loans including mortgages, home equity lines of credit, auto and motorcycle loans, personal loans, and student loans, along with credit cards. Its checking accounts include the Go Blue checking account and a Detroit Lions debit card, since UMCU is the official credit union of the Detroit Lions.

The Plymouth Road branch is at 2935 Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor, and walk-ins are welcome. Members can bank by phone, through online banking and the mobile app, or with assisted banking at a branch, and the credit union offers gift cards, wire transfers and notary services. The credit union also runs free financial education classes and workshops, and it has branches in Ann Arbor, Metro Detroit, Flint and Ypsilanti, plus access to over 30,000 ATMs nationwide.
