Historic 1853 Greek Revival house with a Kempf family music collection312 S. Division St., Ann Arbor, MI
Kempf House Museum is a restored Greek Revival house built in 1853 and run as a nonprofit museum. Its rooms are furnished with pieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, several of which belonged to the Kempf family, and the music studio still holds an 1877 Steinway concert grand piano. The Kempfs were prominent in Ann Arbor's musical life, and the house is known for that connection as well as its architecture and garden.
Guided tours run on selected Sundays from 1 to 4 pm in spring and fall, and tours can also be booked by appointment for groups or individuals with several days' notice. Admission is free, with donations appreciated. The museum also hosts a noon lecture series and social and historical events. The house sits on South Division Street in downtown Ann Arbor.
