Emerson School

Emerson School is an independent school in Ann Arbor serving students from Young Fives through 8th grade. It is organized into three divisions: the Foundation for Young Fives through 3rd grade, the Bridge for grades 4 through 6, and the Capstone for 7th and 8th grade, which prepares students for high school. Small class sizes and individualized attention are central to its approach, with an emphasis on curiosity, creativity, empathy, resilience and integrity.

Families can schedule a tour during a normal school day or start an application online. The school also runs an after school program, summer programs and an athletic program, and it offers World Languages. Emerson has been accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States since 1991, and it creates its own curriculum rather than following standardized mandates.
