Village government for a wooded Huron River residential community199 Barton Shore Drive, Ann Arbor, MI

Barton Hills Village is a municipal government for a residential village of wooded hills and custom homes along the Huron River, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It became the first Home Rule village in Washtenaw County on December 12, 1973, and a Board of Trustees oversees municipal services. The village grew out of a 1910s residential community designed by the Olmsted Engineering firm, where deed restrictions require homes to be designed by a registered architect.
The village clerk's office at 199 Barton Shore Drive handles village business and is open Monday through Friday. Residents and neighbors can find meeting notices, ordinances and tax information on the village website. A separate private corporation handles restrictive covenants, undeveloped land and architectural review.
