Friends group for the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center700 Otter Point Road, Abingdon, MD

Otter Point Creek Alliance is a nonprofit "friends of" group, created in 1996, that supports the research, education and conservation work at the Anita C. Leight Estuary Center on Otter Point Creek. Volunteers and board members back the center's staff with school and public programs, research and monitoring, and stewardship of the grounds, exhibits and trails.
The estuary center is open to the public seven days a week, year round, except holidays and Sundays in winter. Visitors can hike about two miles of trails through upland forest, take sunset canoe or marsh kayak trips, and visit the Discovery Room, which has a 300-gallon freshwater turtle pond. Volunteers help with bay grass, bluebird and marsh plant monitoring. The center is in Abingdon, Maryland.
