Shelter, work-based recovery and second chances for men experiencing homelessness502 Castle St, Wilmington, NC

Rescue Mission of Cape Fear is a Christ-centered nonprofit founded in 1974 to serve people experiencing homelessness in the greater Wilmington area. Its residential program houses up to 16 men at a time and provides meals, transportation, clothing, shelter, toiletries and laundry supplies. Residents work in the mission's thrift store for 30 days, then are encouraged to look for steady employment.
Men can stay up to 90 days, and case managers check in regularly on their goals and any other needs. Local partners offer education, budgeting and resume help, while area churches lead chapel services and support the Celebrate Recovery program. Visitors are welcome during normal business hours, and the mission also hosts an annual gala each fall to support its work.
