One Hour Optical

One Hour Optical is an optical shop and eye care practice offering eye exams, designer and budget eyeglasses, and a range of contact lenses. Its in-house lab handles lens cutting, and same-day glasses are available when needed. Frames range from affordable styles to high-end designer looks, with single vision, bifocal, trifocal, and progressive lens options.

An independent optometrist, Dr. Vander Wilt, provides comprehensive eye exams, including care for ocular disease and children. Vision insurance is accepted, and the office asks people who are not sure whether their plan is covered to call. The shop is in West Des Moines at University Avenue, and it also serves Clive, Windsor Heights, Urbandale, Waukee, Johnston, and nearby communities. Contacts can be ordered online or in store, and appointments can be booked online or by phone.
