Flash

Flash decorates apparel for businesses, event organizers and individuals, with screen printing for team and event orders and embroidery for one-off pieces. Jackets, bags, sweatshirts, polos, aprons and blankets are all welcome in small quantities, and the shop also offers direct-to-film prints and heat-applied patches. The owners are a brother and sister who do the decorating themselves and have worked in the trade for more than 20 years.

Screen printing needs a minimum of six items with at least one color, and a deposit is required on all orders. Embroidery orders are capped at 24 pieces, and individual items often turn around quickly. Email or text is the most reliable way to reach them, since calls are not always answered, and new art or consultation orders are not taken on Fridays. The walk-in retail store is in Valley Junction in West Des Moines, and retail items can be picked up curbside or delivered.
