Active Endeavors

Active Endeavors is an outdoor store that has sold specialized apparel and equipment since opening in 1993. The shop was started to outfit people in Central Iowa for trips well beyond the state, from camping along the Mississippi River to trekking in the Himalayas. Its staff focuses on matching customers with the right gear, and the store carries a range of outdoor brands, many of them focused on recycled materials, fair trade and sustainability.

The store is at 4520 University Ave in West Des Moines and keeps regular weekday and weekend hours. It runs an Active Rewards program where every dollar earns a point and 200 points turn into a $10 gift card. Gift cards are sold in store and online.
