The French Maternal School

The French Maternal School is a small, independent French immersion preschool serving children from 18 months to 6 years old. Its programs follow the French Maternelle model, from Toute Petite Section through Grande Section, with a curriculum that covers language development, early literacy, math concepts and social growth. The school takes its inspiration from the French National Curriculum and draws families from the French, international and diplomatic communities.

The school is fully licensed by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education in DC. Families can attend an open house or schedule a visit before enrolling. Extras include an after care program, a judo club, music classes, a lending library and a summer camp. The school sits in Georgetown on N Street NW, on weekdays during the day.
