The Children's House of Washington

The Children's House of Washington is a Montessori preschool for children ages 2 to 6, offering a traditional Montessori curriculum built around child-centered, experiential learning. The school opened in 1981 and was founded by Montessori-trained educator Patti Harburger. Its leadership includes Executive Director Monica Brewer, who has taught there for over two decades.

The school runs half-day and full-day programs, with after-school care until 6:00pm and early morning care starting at 8:00am on weekdays. Families can schedule an informational session and playdate as part of admissions, and prospective families can also meet a current or former CHOW family. The school is on Dumbarton Street in Georgetown, Washington, DC.
