Historic Federal-era tavern venue for events in Georgetown3206 M St, Washington, DC

City Tavern DC is a historic event venue in Georgetown, housed in a Federal-period tavern built in 1796 that is one of the oldest buildings and last remaining Federal-period taverns in Washington. The building was rescued from demolition in 1959, restored, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is now run under new ownership as a re-imagined venue for weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, galas and private celebrations.
The space covers about 13,000 square feet with two ballrooms, one with Gracie wallpaper and the other with an outdoor patio, plus restored fireplaces, moldings and original brick and pine floors. It can host up to 900 guests. The building sits at the corner of M and Wisconsin avenues NW, with more than 600 parking spaces adjacent. Events are arranged by inquiry through the venue.
