Tons of Bubbles

Tons of Bubbles runs self-serve laundromats in the San Francisco Bay Area, started in 2004 by Deanna Caprini-Fusch when she was 22. The machines are commercial-grade washers and dryers from Dexter and Speed Queen, and the spaces are kept bright and clean. It is a do-it-yourself operation rather than a wash-and-fold service or dry cleaner, so customers run their own loads from start to finish.

Dryers come in standard and large sizes, which helps with bigger loads and comforters. The last wash starts shortly before closing, so plan an evening visit with that in mind. The Walnut Creek shop on Mount Diablo Boulevard is one of the branches run under the Tons of Bubbles name by independent owners, so its details can differ from the San Francisco stores the company runs itself.
