Pottery classes, date nights and drop-in handbuilding370 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair, NJ
Mud Clay Studio runs pottery classes for adults, teens and kids, along with one-time wheel and handbuilding sessions and open studio time for members. Adult wheel sessions run eight weeks and cover throwing, trimming and glazing, while the four-week Mud Lite class suits people who want to try pottery before committing. Handbuilding is taught without a wheel, and drop-in handbuilding and weekend step-by-step workshops are available by booking.
The Montclair studio sits at 370 Bloomfield Ave, next door to the Wellmont Theater. Couples Nights, Ladies Nights and Creative Claydate sessions are BYOB, run about two and a half to three hours, and finished pieces stay at the studio to fire twice before pickup in about five weeks. Gift certificates are available, and the studio also offers private claydates, team building and field trips.
