Absolute Zero Ice Cream

Absolute Zero Ice Cream makes Thai-style ice cream rolls by hand. The base is fresh milk and cream spread thin over a subzero pan, then mixed with fruit, cookies, candy or sauces and rolled into curls. Signature rolls include the Me Want Cookie Oreo, Camp & Chill with chocolate, graham crackers and toasted marshmallow, and the Cocoa Brownie. Several rolls use mochi or Pocky, and there is a matcha, Thai iced tea and ube option for those who want something less familiar.

The shop opened in October 2016 on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. Hours run afternoons on weekdays and from midday on weekends, closing around 10 PM most nights and 9 PM on Sundays, and Mondays are closed. Vegan rolls are available with coconut milk. The shop lists a phone line for checking the current wait time.
