Tomato Bar Pizza Bakery makes craft pizzas, calzones and oven-baked sandwiches, with housemade doughnuts as a popular starter, including garlic butter and parmesan versions. The specialty pizzas have playful names and bold combinations, such as The Reef with pineapple, ham and jerk sauce, and The Buff with buffalo sauce, chicken and a ranch swirl. Salads range from set favorites to build-your-own bowls, and the menu covers wings, hummus and bruschetta too.

The dough is made in house, and the kitchen offers a separate vegan menu, with vegan dough, cheese and sausage options, along with gluten-free crusts. Orders can be placed online or by phone, and the restaurant does not take reservations. Locations are in Valparaiso, Schererville and Crown Point, and the business serves all of Northwest Indiana. Weekend hours run later, until 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
