Equal rights advocacy and community programs for 2SLGBTQIA+ OklahomansTulsa, OK

Oklahomans for Equality is a Tulsa-based advocacy organization working for equal rights for 2SLGBTQIA+ Oklahomans and their families. Founded in 1980 as Tulsa Oklahomans for Human Rights, the group became an early leader in HIV testing and education in northeast Oklahoma. Its programs now include counseling, HIV resources, PrEP and PEP information, substance use recovery support, and voter information, along with community events such as Tulsa Pride and the Equality Gala.
Much of its work takes place at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center at 621 E 4th Street, a renovated 18,000-square-foot building that houses an event center, a lending library, a wellness center and an art gallery. Events there range from theater and comedy to a monthly Broadway sing-along. Visitors should plan for limited parking while Pride Street is under construction, and the center is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
