Animal Rescue Foundation

Animal Rescue Foundation, known locally as ARF, is a Tulsa nonprofit that has been placing homeless pets into homes for more than 35 years. It pulls animals from area shelters that may have been at risk of euthanasia, places them in foster homes, arranges their veterinary care, and then finds adoptive families for them. Adoptable dogs and cats are listed on the website, and people can also foster or volunteer.

Adoption requires filling out an application. Applicants outside the immediate Tulsa area need excellent veterinary records for current or recent pets. Stray animals must first be turned in to Tulsa Animal Welfare and complete a stray hold before a rescue can take them. The ARF House is at LaFortune Park on South Yale Avenue, with parking available, and the group has a partner list of veterinary clinics around Tulsa and Broken Arrow.
