Robinson Helicopter Company

Robinson Helicopter Company designs, builds, assembles and flight tests civil helicopters in Torrance, California. Its lineup includes the R22, R44, R66 and the newer R88, with turbine and piston models used for private flying, flight training, utility, police and rescue work. Founder Frank Robinson started the company in 1973 from his home, and the R22 became the world's top-selling civil helicopter.

Robinson sells aircraft through a network of more than 400 dealers and service centers worldwide. The company also runs a factory overhaul program for older aircraft, a flight training program and a trade-in program for owners who want to upgrade. Most of its parts are made in-house at the Torrance factory, which is near Torrance Airport.
