Second Cycle

Second Cycle is a nonprofit community cycle center in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma that supports, teaches, and advocates for cyclists. Its shop sells affordable refurbished bikes, and visitors can pick out parts and build their own. The Recycle & Reuse Center is where donated bikes, parts, and cycling apparel are repaired, with volunteers, interns, and members working alongside experienced mechanics. Donated bikes often go back out to people in need at no cost.

Volunteers do not need any experience to join, and members get full access to the Recycle & Reuse Center, the community tool library, and a discount on purchases. Youth and adult programs aim to make bikes accessible across Tacoma and Pierce County regardless of age or income. The shop is at 1205 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, and it keeps shorter hours on Fridays with an evening session.
