Manic Mermaid Minerals

Manic Mermaid is an independently owned rock, crystal, mineral and gift shop on South Tacoma Way. Owners Charles and Janelle hand-select many specimens directly from miners and mining families they know, including minerals from Washington State, remote localities abroad and meteorites. The collection also covers fossils, Megalodon teeth, dinosaur bones, jewelry, locally made goods, candles and incense, and stock changes often because each piece is individually chosen.

No knowledge of rocks is needed to visit, and the staff are happy to explain what something is and where it came from. Children are welcome to handle the fossils and other pieces. The shop is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11 AM to 6 PM. Selling to the shop is handled by sending photos first, and appointments are recommended for identifying or viewing items in person.
