Whale of a Wash

Whale of a Wash runs eight self-service laundromats, four of which have attended full-service counters where staff wash, dry and fold laundry. The machines range from single-load top loaders to 80-pound washer extractors, so large comforters and bulk loads fit. Dry cleaning for suits, blouses and blazers is handled through a local partner, and the business also offers alterations and shoe repair. It also operates four self-service car washes with automatic options.

Laundry can be dropped off at the Hedgesville, Charles Town, Falling Waters and Shepherdstown locations, priced by the pound with a 12-pound minimum. Pickup and delivery covers the Greater Martinsburg area for weekly or occasional loads, and payment is due at drop off. The car washes accept credit cards, mobile payment and cash. The company is based in Shepherdstown and has been operating since 1993.
