THE DANCING SCHOOL

The Dancing School is a long-running dance studio in Selma that teaches ballet, jazz and tap to children and adults. Classes focus on healthy technique, alignment, core strength and enjoyment, along with the discipline and confidence students build over time. The studio is also home to The 2nd Street Dancers, a performance group of students aged 7 to adult that has performed in China, Greece, Italy and Mexico.

Students register for the school year and pay monthly tuition, with discounts for taking more classes each week and for paying a semester in full. Individual classes and half-hour private lessons are also available. Parents usually drop off and pick up, since the studio prefers children to focus in class, though one family member can check in through a window in one studio. The school is on 2nd Street in Selma.
