Elote

Elote Cafe is a modern Mexican and Southwestern restaurant known for dishes drawn from southern Mexico, including ancho-glazed cod seafood tacos, braised lamb shank in ancho chile sauce, smoked chicken enchiladas and chiles rellenos. The kitchen uses seasonal, locally grown ingredients, and the cocktail menu features tequilas and mezcal. Chef and owner Jeff Smedstad draws on years of travel through Oaxaca, Veracruz, Puebla and his native Arizona.

Dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday starting at 5pm, for dine-in and takeout. Dine-in reservations are required and walk-ins are not being accepted at this time. Takeout orders can be pre-ordered by phone from 3pm, with pickup after 5pm, and the number of takeout orders is limited each night. The restaurant overlooks the Red Rocks of Sedona from its open-air deck.
