SMJ Studio

SMJ Studio is a custom sewing and design workroom in Seattle that makes window treatments, cushions, slipcovers and bed linens for commercial, hospitality and residential clients. Drapery, roman shades, roller shades and blinds are among its core work, along with duvet covers, coverlets and towels. The studio has been in business since 1992 and describes itself as the largest workroom in the Pacific Northwest.

Work is handled from concept through completion, with projects ranging from office spaces and restaurants to hotels, yachts and private homes. Founder Sara Johnson leads the design side, and the studio is located in the Ballard neighborhood at 1428 NW Leary Way.
