Bazaz Studio

Bazaz Studio is the working studio of an artist who began by making images fired on glass and has since moved into printmaking on paper. The work keeps the transparency and subtle color shifts of glass, and the printmaking uses glass itself as the plate, etched, sandblasted, or engraved with fine tools or a laser, then inked and run through a press much like an intaglio etching. Techniques include collagraphy, drypoint, engraving on glass and copper, and relief printing. Wire drawings and prints are shown on the site.

The studio welcomes visitors who want to see current work, and it hosts shows throughout the year. Studio visits are arranged in advance by phone or email. The studio is at 4604 14th Ave NW in Seattle's Ballard area.
