Atelier Richard Boerth

Atelier Richard Boerth is a bespoke picture frame maker and fine antique frame gallery. Richard Boerth, a third-generation craftsman with more than 40 years of experience, leads the studio, which specializes in gold leaf and other decorative finishes using mostly traditional materials and techniques. Frames can be newly replicated in historical or contemporary styles, and unique designs are handcrafted from start to finish.

The gallery holds a large selection of antique frames, many dating from the 17th century to the mid-20th century, which are popular with art collectors, museums, galleries, and interior designers. The studio also restores antique frames, gilded furniture, and art objects, and applies gold leaf and silver leaf to furniture and architectural projects. Visits are by appointment only, and the studio is located near downtown Seattle on Stone Way North.
