About A LA MODE PIES

The story

A la Mode Pies is a Seattle pie bakery known for handmade pies and tarts baked from scratch each morning, with lollipies, pie bombs and pie babies among its trademarked treats. The founder, Chris Porter, known as The Pie Guy, started the business in 2009 and has run a pie-making school and wedding dessert service alongside the shop.

The bakery operates out of two neighborhood cafes, one in West Seattle at 4225 SW Alaska St and one in Ballard, with a Phinney Ridge bakery planned to reopen. Pies can be ordered online, and whole pies are available for Thanksgiving and Christmas pre-orders. Pie-making classes and wedding tastings are also offered.
