Small Fry Dance Club

Small Fry Dance Club teaches dance to toddlers and preschoolers, with classes for children as young as 18 months. Lessons cover ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre, with a focus on coordination, listening skills and confidence. The club was founded in 2007 by husband and wife team Jana and Carlos Chapeton, and it started as an in-school program at Bay Area preschools before opening its own studio.

The studio is a 7000 square foot space in San Mateo with four dance studios, just off El Camino Real near the Hayward Park Caltrain station. Tuition is charged monthly based on about four classes a month, and the club also offers preschool-center classes and an annual winter performance. Parking is limited, so check the studio's parking rules before you arrive.
