Computers 2 Kids

Computers 2 Kids is a nonprofit that refurbishes donated technology and provides low-cost computers, affordable internet access and workforce training. Its TechUp program offers hands-on training, certifications and career pathways in IT and logistics for people from marginalized communities. Families who receive a computer also get free lifetime technical support, and proceeds from its eBay store go toward the refurbishing work.

Families can request a computer through the organization, and the team takes donated technology, cash gifts and volunteer time. The office is at Miramar Mall in San Diego, and it accepts computer donations as well as general inquiries. Hours and holiday closures are posted on its site and change through the year.
