STEPS Montessori

STEPS Montessori is a nonprofit Montessori preschool in Saginaw, founded about four decades ago by Lorraine Lund. The school started with a small group of 20 children and now serves over 60 learners, with faculty certified by the American Montessori Society.

Classrooms are student led, with children working alongside peers at their own mastery level rather than by age, and teachers offering active support. The curriculum covers planetary science, maps, biology, practical life skills, music, and an introduction to foreign languages. Teachers drop off students each morning through a valet service, and the school holds student led conferences twice a year and organizes frequent field trips. The school is located at 4046 Vera Street in Saginaw.
