Root of Happiness

Root of Happiness is a kava bar in downtown Roseville, serving fresh frozen kava from Hawaii, Fiji and American farms alongside traditional powdered house kavas. The menu also includes alcohol-free botanical tonics and iced pours, plus specialty espresso made with a house blend roasted in small batches.

Kava is served in a traditional shell and drunk in one go, and the staff walk first-time visitors through the menu without rushing them. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours, and larger groups or private events can call ahead. Drinking kava requires guests to be 18 or older with ID, while the coffee and botanical menu is open to all ages. The room has exposed brick, carved tikis and a large mural of the Marquesan voyage to Hawaii, and it sits on Vernon Street in downtown Roseville.
