Exhibits on African American cowboys of the American West1104 3rd St, Rosenberg, TX
The Black Cowboy Museum preserves the history of African American cowboys who shaped the American West, with exhibits that highlight figures such as Bass Reeves, Nat Love and Bill Pickett. Founded by Larry Callies, it is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that also houses the Black Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Self-guided visits and guided tours are available, with guided tours covering both the Black Cowboy and Hall of Fame museums and lasting about one to one and a half hours. Group tours of 15 or more need to be booked by email at least seven days ahead. The museum is at 1104 3rd Street in Rosenberg and is open Tuesday through Saturday, with hours that can change, so calling ahead is a good idea.
