Engelbert's Jewelers is a family-run jewelry store that has been in downtown Rome since 1907, when Martin J. Engelbert bought the Singleton Jewelry store on West Dominick Street. The shop sells engagement rings, bridal jewelry, diamonds, pearls and gifts, and it is known for its Ideal Cut diamonds. Repairs, resizing, appraisals and restringing are also part of the work.
The Rome store is at 265 W Dominick St, and the family also runs a second store in the New Hartford Shopping Center. Financing and layaway are offered, and gold and diamond buying is available. Sarah Engelbert, the fourth generation of the family to run the business, is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America.
