Rockford Cheese Shop sells more than 100 imported and domestic artisan cheeses, cut fresh to order at the cheese counter. Cheesemongers can help pick cheeses and pairings, and customers can sample a few before buying. Cheeses are sorted by style, including cheddars, alpine and Italian styles, goudas, brie style, blues, and goat, sheep and cow milk cheeses.

The shop also carries salamis, prosciutto and speck, house-made dips, a large selection of gluten-free crackers, nuts, olives, pickles, chocolates and jams. Frozen quiche from Bakewell Quiche in Portage is kept in the back freezer. Custom platters can be made to order for events of any size, and payment is due when a platter is ordered. Platters canceled at least 48 hours ahead are fully refunded. Gift boxes and gift cards are available. The shop is at 49 East Bridge Street Northeast in Rockford.
