Sun Country Landfill

Sun Country Landfill is a Waste Connections facility in Riverview, southeast of Tampa, that takes non-hazardous municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris, yard waste and special waste. It also recovers cardboard, office paper, plastics, oil, glass and metals for reuse, and has handled construction and demolition debris since 1995. Tires, white goods and batteries are accepted as well.

Commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers can all use the site, and roll-off dumpster rentals are available for projects. Transfer stations in Tampa and Palmetto serve residents and third-party haulers. Every load must be covered or secured, and uncovered loads are charged double. Safety vests are required, and small amounts of paint and chemicals up to 15 gallons can be dropped at the on-site hazardous waste facility at no charge. Salvaging or picking through loads is not allowed. The landfill is open weekdays and Saturday daytime, and closed Sundays and major holidays.
