Writing Center

The Writing Center is a peer-based learning support service for currently enrolled VCU students, staffed by student consultants who read drafts and talk through ideas. Consultations focus on big-picture concerns such as structure, organization and how to articulate an argument, and they can happen at any stage from brainstorming to a final draft. The staff do not edit or proofread papers.

Students book in-person or online appointments through Navigate, and online consultations are held over Zoom. Online drop-in consultations are also offered, along with weekly undergraduate and graduate workshops. The in-person space is in the Academic Learning Commons, and online sessions are available on Sunday afternoons during the fall term.
