Thrift & consignment in Richmond

Thrift and consignment shops help you find secondhand clothing, furniture, housewares and décor, often at a fraction of new prices. Many also carry vintage jewelry, lighting, ceramics, collectibles and printed ephemera, so a visit can be as much a treasure hunt as a shopping trip. Consignment shops usually pay the seller a share when an item sells, so they tend to be more selective about condition, while thrift stores take a wider range of donations. Before you go, call to ask whether the shop accepts returns, takes cards, or has fitting rooms, since policies vary. If you are looking for a specific piece, ask whether staff will hold it or call you when similar items arrive in Richmond, VA.
