Bespoke suits, tuxedos and alterations cut and finished by hand745 W. Johnson Street, Raleigh, NC

Glenwood South is a bespoke tailor and alteration shop in Raleigh's Glenwood South district, making made-to-measure suits, tuxedos and evening wear, and altering garments from other makers. Suits are cut from a pattern drafted for each client, proved through three fittings and finished by hand, with English and Italian cloths. The founder, Brian Burnett, oversees the higher-end garments himself.
Alterations take about twenty minutes and are best booked ahead, with a $75 minimum per transaction. Bespoke commissions and bridal gown work also go by appointment, and the shop does not take on simple mending or bridesmaid dresses. The workroom is at 745 W. Johnson Street in Raleigh, open Tuesday through Saturday, and the shop is closed Sunday and Monday.
