Early Learning and Education Centers

Puyallup Early Learning Center is a licensed child care program run by the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties. It cares for children from about 2.5 to 6 years old who are not yet in school, and children must be potty trained before they start. Families can enroll for 2, 3, 4, or 5 days a week.

The center is open weekdays with extended hours until 6 in the evening, which suits parents with longer work days. Staffing ratios are 1:4 for infants, 1:7 for toddlers, and 1:10 for preschoolers. Enrolled children receive a free YMCA membership for programs like swim lessons and gymnastics, and the whole family can join at a discount. Families start by filling out an interest form on the YMCA website.
