Spice and Tea Merchants

Spice and Tea Merchants is a spice and tea shop in Wayland Square, stocking a wide range of herbs, spices and spice blends, loose leaf teas, olive oil, vinegar and gourmet pantry items. The shop sits inside the historic Wayland Manor apartments and is one location of a franchise chain that started in Michigan in 2003.

Shoppers come in for favorite blends, teas and gifts for the home kitchen, and the store also carries teaware. Orders can be placed through the chain's online store, though some products are sold only online and others only in the shop. Owners Matt and Jessica run the Providence location. The chain notes that its products are not allergen or gluten-free, and that cross contamination may occur.
