Recycle-A-Bike

Recycle-A-Bike is a nonprofit community bike shop that refurbishes donated bicycles and teaches bike maintenance. Its core offerings are multi-week mechanic classes, including a five-week Rebuild a Bike course where students repair a project bike and keep it at the end, plus an introductory Know Your Multi-tool series. The group also matches people who need transportation with free or low-cost bikes and provides free bikes for children in the community.

The shop is run largely by volunteers and welcomes donations of new and used bicycles, parts, accessories and cycling clothing. It is at 1911 Westminster St. in Providence, with ample parking behind the building. Fall and winter hours run Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday afternoons, and interested people can join the Rebuild a Bike waitlist by email.
