Community bike workshop with sliding-scale repairs50 Sims Ave., Providence, RI

Lefty Loosey Bike Collective is a worker-run community bicycle workshop in Providence that repairs used bikes and puts them back into the community. Volunteers and mechanics help people fix their own bikes with the shop's tools, stands and spare parts, and the collective refurbishes donated bikes for bulk redistribution with community partners. It also repairs wheelchairs and rollators and runs a seven-week mechanical fundamentals course along with other classes.
Open Shop runs Thursday evenings and Volunteer Night is on Tuesday evenings, with a monthly Saturday session as well. Everything is pay-what-you-can, with no set fees and no proof of income required. Individual bike sales are paused until spring 2027, and because the shop is run entirely by volunteers, it is open only a few days a week. The shop is at 50 Sims Ave. E-bikes can be worked on for mechanical parts but not electrical ones, and gas-powered bikes are not allowed inside.
