The Scioto Ribber

The Scioto Ribber is a family restaurant known for hickory smoked ribs, chicken and steaks, all cooked on the grill and smoked as orders are placed. The menu also covers pork barbecue sandwiches, fish, shrimp, salads and a homemade peanut butter cream pie. The restaurant started as a backyard smoker cooking for family and friends before moving into a restaurant on Gallia Street.

The kitchen has plenty of seating and takes large parties as well as couples. Steaks are cut fresh and smoked, so they take longer than other menu items. Gift cards are sold, and the bar serves seasonal and domestic beers along with Portsmouth Brewing Company beers. The restaurant is open daily from late morning into the evening, with later hours on Tuesday through Saturday.
