Portland Community College

Portland Community College is a public community college with several campuses and centers across the Portland metro area. It offers certificates and associate degrees in fields such as business, healthcare and emergency professions, trades, science and technology, and the arts, along with transfer programs for students who plan to finish a bachelor's degree at a four-year school. Hands-on training in areas like welding, aviation, and bioscience lab work is part of the offerings.

Many students attend part-time, and the college lists free shuttles between campuses and public transit options. Tuition is well below the cost of Oregon public and private universities, and most students receive financial aid. Online classes are also available, and the Cascade Campus is in North Portland, Rock Creek near Hillsboro and Beaverton, Southeast Campus in Montavilla, and Sylvania in the Far Southwest neighborhood.
