TACO ESCOBARR

Taco Escobarr serves casual, Mexican-inspired food with a menu built around tacos, burritos, nachos and queso. Its best-known items include the crispy and puffy tacos, the El Jefe's nachos, avocado fries and a queso fundito served in a hot skillet, plus steak fajitas, pozole and churros for dessert. Craft beer, Mexican beer and specialty cocktails are also on offer, including margaritas made with fresh squeezed lime juice.

The kitchen is open late, from 11 AM to 1 AM every day, so it suits a late dinner or a drink after dark. Reservations are not taken, so seating is first come, first served. Gift cards are sold. The restaurant is on Congress Street in Portland, Maine.
