MAINE SUNWORKS

Maine Sunworks designs economical, energy-efficient passive solar homes, along with small houses, accessory dwelling units and net-zero house plans. The firm focuses on simple, affordable designs built around natural materials and low environmental impact, with an emphasis on smaller homes that use less energy.

The business was established in 2006 by Chip Flanagan, a designer with more than 40 years of experience in the building trades as a woodworker, carpenter, architectural designer and boatbuilder. The firm is based in Portland, and its work has been shown at the Common Ground Fair in Unity. Homeowners can reach Chip by phone or through the contact form on the website.
