Maine Electrical Institute

Maine Electrical Institute offers electrician training courses approved by the State of Maine, aimed at people working toward a journeyman or limited license. Its catalog includes full licensing programs, individual courses on subjects such as basic electricity, blueprint reading, motors and controls, and NEC code update courses. Students can choose the in-person classes or the self-paced online option, and the school says it covers only the courses the state requires for a license.

In-person classes are held at the school in Portland, serving students in Southern Maine, while students elsewhere in the state can join through livestream or self-paced study. Office hours are weekday business hours. Reviewers on Google often mention the online courses and instructors who explained code material clearly.
